Aligners

 

Aligners are customised clear plastic retainers that fit snuggly over your teeth. Each aligner is developed using sophisticated computer aided technology and designed to guide the teeth into the desired position. Each aligner is worn for 1-2 weeks for a minimum of 20-22 hours a day and should only be removed to eat, brush and floss.

 

The treatment will be reviewed every 4-6 weeks to ensure we are achieving optimal results and most treatment cases are completed within 9 months.

 

Please note that if aligners are not worn for the required time and every day, this will compromise the desired result which then may not be achieved and/or further aligners and longer treatment times will be needed at an additional cost.

 

Retention

 

Following the completion of your aligner therapy and once we are happy with your smile, we need to ensure your teeth stay in the desired position. This is achieved with removable retainers. For optimal results, removable retainers will need to be worn daily for one year. After this they will need to be worn for a minimum of three times a week at night for the long term.
